My thoughts and prayers go out to Brandon Davis and his family.
Brandon was sent to the hospital with dehydration after what UCF called a “light workout” (where have we heard this before?). His kidneys shut down and now they’re monitoring his heart. This is pretty serious stuff.
I’ll say this.. I defended O’leary strongly in the face of the Sentinel investigations over Ereck Plancher. From everything I had heard in and around the program, it really just seemed like a horrible tragedy thats hard to find any particular person at fault for. Largely because of the sickle cell trait that Ereck carried.
This is different. Way different. And it makes me question my sentiment towards everything the first time around.
I hope Dr. Hitt is able to take an honest time out and form an independent investigation into whats going on over in East Orlando. This smells simply rotten.
We’ll know more once all the facts start making their way out. Right now it’s still just a lot of hearsay. I should mention though (without repeating any of it or saying where I heard it from), that this time, it’s all much much worse.
Please keep Brandon Davis in your prayers, and here’s to hoping UCF cleans house.

Don’t know if you saw the Outside the Lines report on Plancher’s death. That seemed rotten as well. I’ve lost a lot of my fervor for the program over the past year and this has definitely brought it down yet another notch.
The problem with the EP OTL special was the primary source they used. He was kicked off the team and eventually baker acted (according to what I’ve read over on rivals). They relied on the Sentinel to provide most of the research, and the Sentinel’s research was fairly rough (especially if that was their same ‘anonymous source’).
I questioned all of it until this latest issue. It seems now there is probably some truth to the core of the story, regardless of the sensationalism that was added to hte EP tragedy.
We’ll see. :\ Hitt announced that they’re formally investigating things..
