Man, Matt Grothe and Jim Leavitt must spend all of their pillow talk time trying to come up with ways to keep taking shots at little ol’ UCF.
Here’s the latest quote, which was reported in the St. Pete Times:
His team faces No. 13 Kansas in two days, but USF coach Jim Leavitt got in one more dig at Central Florida on Wednesday night when asked if he was surprised that Friday night’s game — with 53,000-plus tickets sold — isn’t likely to be sold out, as Raymond James Stadium was last year against West Virginia and Central Florida.
“Fifty-two thousand isn’t bad,” Leavitt said. “It’s more than they got at Central Florida, right? By a bunch. And that’s a sellout over there, right? I’m not making comparisons, and I probably shouldn’t have said those things about them the other day. I’m not taking any of it back, but I mean, they have a good program. George (O’Leary) does a good job there.”
Ignoring the fact that the UCF/USF game last year in Raymond James will have drawn a higher attendance then their upcoming home game vs. a ranked Big 12 Kansas team — what the hell, Jim? You break up with us, then keep running your mouth anyway? You’re a crazy ex-girlfriend Jim. If you can’t understand that, think of yourself sort of like your ex-wife — the difference is, we never ran off with the secretary.
“Don’t call us, We’ll call Grothe.”
